About the Role
As a Data Engineer at Immersa, you'll develop tools and systems that streamline data processing, making it more accessible and useful for our customers. You'll work at the intersection of data engineering, AI, and software development to create scalable solutions that power automation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with a collaborative team, and iterating quickly on solutions.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and architectures for automated data workflows.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using Python-based frameworks.
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to manage and scale data infrastructure.
- Apply software engineering best practices for testing and validation to data workflows.
- Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to integrate automation into data engineering processes.
- Develop and optimize data models and database queries for performance and scalability.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices are upheld.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience with Python frameworks for data processing (e.g., Pandas/PySpark, Airflow/Prefect, Airbyte).
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Clickhouse, Athena).
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Ability to think systematically and apply software engineering principles to data workflows.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment, with a self-driven and adaptable mindset.
- Passion for learning and staying current with evolving trends in data engineering and automation.
Bonus Points
- Experience with streaming data frameworks and modern data lakehouse architectures.
- Contributions to open-source projects or active engagement with the data engineering community.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-driven automation in data workflows.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices.
